SOURCE: Key won't turn in 2002 Jeep Liberty, can't start. put the key in the ignition and tap the key farther into the cylinder and turn. should work. seems like a chrysler problem! a handy tow truck driver showed me this solution last night. you can have the cylinder replaced if this keeps happening or just keep a handy-dandy whacking object in your center console for just such an occassion!

Dec 14, 2011 · If not, the relay could be bad, the park/neutral safety switch or even the ignition switch. Mess a bit with the shift lever next time and see if it will start. If you do hear a slight click from the start relay, the problem can be with the starter solenoid (part of the starter) or a bad ground.

May 17, 2013 · 2006 automatic jeep liberty, last winter(dec 2017)I had the intermittent no start situation. Ignition Switch Actuator Pin, broken, same as in most of the pics out there. So I replaced it as well as the Ignition Switch, easy enough to do. Worked fine for a month or so and then started to happen again.
